Unemployment Compensation is Increased in Thailand泰國提高失業救濟金金額

On 27 June 2025, Thai Ministry of Labour has published the new Ministerial Regulation Prescribing the Criteria and Rates for Receiving Unemployment Benefits (No. 2) B.E. 2568 (2025) in the Royal Gazette, which has been effective since 28 June 2025. From now on, employees who are laid off from their jobs are now entitled to 60% of their daily wage in unemployment benefits.

泰國勞工部於2025年6月27日於皇家公報公布佛曆2568年(2025)新的《規定領取失業救濟金標準和費率的部長條例》(第2號),此規定自2025年6月28日生效。從現在起,被解僱的員工將有權獲得相當於日薪 60% 的失業救濟金。

 

Under the new regulation, laid-off employees cover under Section 33 of the Social Security Act are entitled to receive unemployment benefits under the Social Security Fund (“SSF”) for a maximum of 180 days per year, at the rate of 60% of the employee’s monthly wages at the time of termination, up from 50% previously. Section 33 designates compulsory insured persons, typically employees who are at least 15 years old and no older than 60 years of age, working for an employer with at least 1 employee.

根據新規定,根據《社會保險法》第33條的規定,被解僱的員工有權根據社會安全基金(“SSF”)領取失業救濟金,每年最多180天,救濟金金額為員工被解僱時月薪的60%,高於之前的50%。第 33 條指定強制被保險人,通常是年齡至少 15 歲且不超過 60 歲、為至少有1名員工的雇主工作的員工。

 

In addition, under the new regulation, resigned employees or those with expired contracts will receive 30% of their daily wage, payable for up to 90 days per calendar year.

此外,根據新規定,離職員工或合約到期員工將獲得日薪的30%,每年最多給付90天。

 

However, the maximum wage used as the basis for calculating the benefit remains capped at THB 15,000 per month. Hence, the maximum unemployment benefit an employee can receive from the SSF is THB 9,000 (up from THB 7,500) per month for a period of up to 6 months, meaning employees can now receive a total maximum benefit of THB 54,000, up from the previous maximum of THB 45,000.

然而,用於計算救濟金的最高薪資仍為每月15,000泰銖。因此,員工從SSF領取的最高失業救濟金為每月9,000泰銖(原為7,500泰銖),最長6個月,表示員工現在可以獲得的最高救濟金總額為 54,000 泰銖,高於之前的最高 45,000 泰銖。

 

In order to be qualified to receive the unemployment benefits from the SSF, employees must be registered with the Social Security Office and must have contributed to the SSF for at least 6 months within the 15 months prior to the start date of the relevant unemployment period.

為了有資格從 SSF 領取失業救濟金,員工必須在勞工部社會安全辦公室登記,並且在相關失業期開始日期的前15 個月內繳款給 SSF至少 6 個月。

 

To apply for unemployment benefits, the eligible individuals must register for unemployment benefits online at https://e-service.doe.go.th within 30 days from the last day of employment. Multiple applications can be submitted in the same year, but benefit periods are limited to 180 days for termination and 90 days for resignation. In addition, the applicant must remain unemployed for at least 8 days, report their status monthly, and be available for work or training. Individuals terminated due to serious misconduct or who are already receiving old-age benefits are not eligible.

如要申請失業救濟金,符合資格的個人必須在最後一天上班後 30 天內在 https://e-service.doe.go.th 線上登記失業救濟金。同一年可提交多份申請,但福利期限限制為被解僱180天、辭職90天。此外,申請人必須至少失業8天,每月報告失業狀況,並能隨時工作或接受培訓。因嚴重不當行為被解僱或已領取退休金的個人不符合資格。
